My shopping experience last night!

I have to tell you all, that I had the best experience shopping at a local craft store in Greensboro, NC.  The place is called THE STAMPING AND SCRAPBOOKING ROOM.  One of the owners, Betty, is a “HOOT”.  She was very friendly, gave great customer service, and showed my wife and I around the place.  She even took the time to explain some things to us, and showed us some things we would never have thought of using before.  They are located at

2806 Randleman Rd, Greensboro, NC 27406

Phone
(336) 389-9539
Fax
(336) 389-9538

While there, we bought a Scor-Pal, and the Allegro Cuttlebug A2 Embossing Folder.  If you are looking for something, she has it.  If she doesn’t have it, she can order it for you!  WOW!  Great customer service!  I’m sure you will come out with a smile on your face, and will return time and time again.

By the way, I will be using both to make a card this weekend, and I will post the project as soon as I am done with pictures.  Stop back soon!

OK..I need to post!

I’ll be working on a card or two, and putting them up this weekend.  Sorry for the delay in posts.  Stop back soon!

Happy New Year!

OK.  I know I am late with this post (by one day), and my intention is to not be late with posting new things on this blog this year.  I’m off to a great start.  LOL.

Anyway,  Happy New Year!  This year I hope to share many projects with you.  My goal that I have set this year is to give you what you need to “scrap lift” the project by giving you things such as sizes, cartridges used, paper used, punches, etc.

Of course all comments are much appreciated and any advice you would like to give me to maybe enhance my projects would be greatly appreciated.  Remember, all ideas are welcome!  You’ll never know, you just may see YOUR idea posted here as a project.

I also hope to get a few guests this year to share their projects with you.  I have some people in mind, and will be sending them an email soon to see if they would like to be a guest designer for a posting in 2010.

Also this year, I am going to try to have some giveaways!  Yes, BLOG CANDY!  You may just be a lucky winner.  Make sure you check the blog often, and tell your friends about it too.

Since buying our cricut machine, and just recently our cuttlebug, I have seen many other blogs/message boards/etc and have been inspired.  I hope to share some of those inspirations, and any time I scraplift a project I will give you 100% credit!  I do believe giving credit where credit is due is the right way to go.

Have fun.  Enjoy the blog!  And also, please visit all my wonderful friends blogs too.  There are a bunch of them listed in my blogroll.  I will have many more to come in 2010 too!  Speaking of that, when I add a new blog to the list it will have something letting you know it’s new for a short period.  Something like this “Sues Blog (NEW LINK!!!)”.  I will keep this as a new link for approximately one to two weeks so you can tell it’s new.  After that, I will remove the (NEW LINK!!!) part from the listing.

Tell your friends about my blog!  Visit often!  You’ll never know what may appear on my postings.  But I guarantee you will enjoy it!

Thanks for stopping by!

Shawn

Etching on a glass

I recently tried my hand at etching a glass.  Here is what I used and some tips:

SUPPLIES

  • 1 Small Drinking Glass
  • Armour Etch (Can be bought at Hobby Lobby, Michaels, and others)
  • Vinyl
  • Cricut Potpourri Cartridge (Cricut Bug Shape cut at 3 inches or whatever max size will fit your glass)

TIPS

  • Make sure the vinyl is flush against the glass, otherwise you may get etching cream under vinyl and may not get a perfect etch on your glass.  I aciddentlly had a “bubble” and had a little bit extra run into the left side of the bughead.
  • Apply a generous amount of Armour Etch.  You can scrape off the extra later and reuse it.
  • Leave Armour Etch on for at least 10-15 minutes (Scrape off extra making sure not to get it on any area that you do not want to etch!)
  • Wash off the glass
  • Make sure you do not get the Armour Etch on your hands for a long period of time. It is an ACID!!!

Blog Link Love

Today, I decided to put a ton of links in my blogroll.  I will add you anytime you ask.  Just leave me an email (click on my EMAIL LINK that looks like a blue E) with a link to your crafting web site, and I will link you here.

This is all designed to hopefully drive some traffic to your blog.

If you don’t have a blog, that is fine.  Just visit the ones that are in my blogroll and you may get some great ideas to scraplift.

I also would appreciate if you could link my site on your blog (if you ave one) too.  Thanks in advance, and happy Crafting!
